This week we look at the character attribute of God
regarding His mercy. I am so thankful
for His mercy towards us as His children.
Before we discuss this attribute, I want to encourage you to look back
over the attributes we have looked at thus far;
God is Good, He is Omnipresent (always present), Omniscient (all knowing), Omnipotent (all
powerful), Infinite, Holy, and Faithful.
I pray that you do understand that these attributes of God hold true
100% of the time.
I made the following comment the first week we began to look
at the attributes..."We don't trust who we don't know!" Our ability to grow in our faith is directly
relational to our trust in Him being who He says He is!
Merciful - God is an actively compassionate being. He acts in a compassionate way toward those
who have opposed His will in their pursuit of their own way.
Merriam/Webster Dictionary defines mercy this
way....Compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's
power to punish or harm.
