What an amazing conference with the women in Mexico. Oh, my sweet friends, do not assume because they are so close to home that their needs are any less than those that live on the other side of the world. Please remember them in prayer as we go forward. As soon as we are able we will post a video to the blog so you can hear from a couple of the ladies how much your investment in them by praying, going, gifting, and giving, means. It is a powerful thing to see God work. We do videos after each trip but we can’t always show them due to security issues. We will be able to share one with you from this trip, so keep a watch out.
Happy Thanksgiving to You and Yours,
From the Board, Staff, and Advisors of Pure Joy International

Day 7 Guanajuato City...
Well, today was our final day with the ladies. It has been a good week strong in the word! Please pray with us that these ladies will take the words spoken to them and over them this past week and allow God to work them out in their life.
We head home early in the morning so families prepare to get your loved ones back!
Here are a few picks from today.
Love you all...

Day 6 Guanajuato City...
Another full day of being in the word. God continues to work on our hearts. Showed this group of ladies the missionary video from our Southeast Asia trip 7 weeks ago. It was amazing to see how it ministered to them to hear the hearts of the missionary women in Asia and know they have many of the similar struggles and how God spoke. He loves His girls all over the world!
Also, thank you to the missionaries and team here in Guanajuato for an incredible birthday! And to all of you that texted, called, and sent emails! I am truly blessed!
Pray for us as we finish up tomorrow at noon. Pray God continues to convict, affirm and challenge us to become more like Him.
His,
Vickie

Day 5 Guanajuato City...
It has been a great day in Guanajuato City. The "Word" teaching today has been strong. We shared some laughs, tears, and prayer. And, of course we eat, way too much! It is amazing to watch God’s Hand at work. The connections that take place, the encouragement to one another, new friends, and so many biblical principles and truths taking place. Incredible testimony shared tonight of God’s Goodness!
Keep up the prayers! Here are some pics from the day!

Day 3 Guanajuato City, Mexico....
Today has been a busy day. We started with a devotional from
Jennifer, prayer time for the election, missionaries, families left behind on
both sides and for God to accomplish something AMAZING this next four days that
will be something we all talk about and remember until we are called to Glory!
Please pray that in agreement with us.
But I do have to tell you the altitude takes a toll on
you so you are easily fatigued. By the time we finished and headed back to the
hotel, well, I think this little guy sleeping tells it all.
We also began putting the final preparations together for
the retreat that begins tomorrow. As much as it has been fun to spend time in
this city, nothing compares to ministering to the missionary women that will be
coming. However, I do have to say we have thoroughly enjoyed the city of
Guanajuato. It is a beautiful place. The people are wonderful and the food has
been great. This afternoon the team went out to do some shopping. We had some fun and great laughs.

Day 2 Guanajuato City…
9:00 a.m. We started the day out by traveling to Cubilete De Cristo which is the geographical center of Mexico. This is where the second largest statue of Christ in the world is located. If you watched any of the Olympics, this past summer, you saw the largest statue of Christ located in Rio.
We then came back into Guanajuato City and toured the Basilica and had lunch and walked around.
3:15 p.m. Back to hotel for some rest and oxygen (ha, ha) high altitude.
5:30 p.m. We headed to Papilla which overlooks Guanajuato City.
Then dinner and back for devotional, prayer time, sleep and oxygen. Ha, ha
Tomorrow morning we start to work on final retreat preparations.
Love you all…

Day 1 Mexico Sunday...
1:48 p.m.
The team is
altogether and going to be really awesome!
As I write this
blog we are beginning our second decent into Leon, Mexico, airport. Second
because the first time we just about touched down on the runway and then started
upward again. It seems someone else was on our runway. What's up with
that! (Smile) These last few minutes are rather bumpy!
8:46
p.m. Just finished dinner crawling into bed. Team went to the
Guanajuato City square and ate at a wonderful place. Long day however
since almost all of us were up by 2 a.m. to catch our flights this
morning. This place is beautiful and historic! The missionaries are
going to love it!!! Great place to hang during their afternoon free times.
Lights out! Love
you guys!

Question of the past 24 hours.......
Is the team ready to leave for
Mexico? The answer is a resounding, Yes! Trunks are packed with some extra goodies
thrown in for good measure. Can I share something with you that might sound a
little funny? I love, love, love, when we are about to leave the country and
get our bags and trunks checked in at all the departing airports. (This team is
coming from 5 different states to Houston to fly out of the county.) But, what
I really love, love, love is when the plane lifts off the runway from our
original city of departure… because at that moment I know if we missed anything
or forgot anything it doesn’t matter. Nothing we can do about it now. (smile)
That is such a great feeling...to let go! As we are in the preparation process
before leaving the country, we want to make sure we are doing our part to
prepare with excellence for all He has for the missionary women. But, after
that we are just watching and waiting for Him to show up and show out!! (Amen!)
We fly out of Houston at 11:50 a.m.
Sunday morning. Please pray for us and the missionary women daily. I will blog
daily, starting Sunday evening.
Pray for God to use the worship,
messages, fellowship, free-time, counseling time, and all things to help
encourage our missionaries/families to continue to serve on the field of service
God has called them to. Our deepest desire is for these ladies and their
families and ministries not to become a statistic of leaving the field for lack
of encouragement.
Hebrews 3:13 (ESV)
But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Love you
